The SkyCycle, our newest attraction, was invented here at Hidden Worlds and is still the
only one of its kind in existence. A cable bicycle suspended at treetop level over the abundant Mayan rainforest, the SkyCycle allows you to
pedal at your own leisurely pace through the air, taking in the overwhelming beauty of this incredible place and its teeming plant and animal life without disturbance to the delicate eco-system. The one kilometer SkyCycle route will take you down into and through
enchanting caverns filled with dreamlike natural rock formations and cenotes where you can join one of our knowledgeable guides on a snorkel tour through a natural underground river system and the sacred cenotes that it connects.
Your adventure will begin in a famous Hidden Worlds jungle buggy which will take you out into the heart of the jungle to the SkyCycle base. Here you will receive a safety briefing and instruction from an experienced and highly trained guide. Traversing undetected above the succulent rainforest you are likely to experience an array of jungle life continuing on before your very eyes. Feel free to stop pedaling at any time and lose yourself in the peace and magnificence of being this close to nature. By and by you will come upon an experienced guide who will aid you in your gentle descent into a cavern. Here you will dismount and ease yourself into the refreshing crystal clear turquoise waters of “La Iglesia”, Spanish for “The Church”.
The name of this cenote should give you an idea of the majestic decorations you can expect to see and of the sacred energy you cannot help but sense in this incredible hidden world. Our knowledgeable snorkel guides can provide you with a wealth of information about the incredible geological formations here, as well as providing instruction on the finer points of snorkeling. Then it’s back on your bike to continue your SkyCycle experience, taking you through otherworldly caverns and over several charming cenotes before heading back up to the jungle treetops once again and back to base.
The SkyCycle & Snorkel Experience has become a popular favorite for nature lovers and serenity-seekers the world over since its launch in 2007.
Tour lasts approximately two and one half hours. Bring a good pair of tennis shoes, sneakers, or sandals, a swimsuit, insect repellent, drinking water, and a camera.
SkyCycle Rules for Children:
We can provide a smaller version of the SkyCycle for your child. All participants must be 48 inches tall and demonstrate mature behavior to ride a SkyCycle unaccompanied by an adult. They should be able to follow instruction and listen to a short briefing. For those children who do not meet this requirement or are uncomfortable riding single, they may ride on the lap of an adult size permitting. Final decision about your child’s ability to ride single will be made by the ride operator in cooperation with the parent.
