Frequently Asked Questions
What forms of payment do you accept?
All our prices in the Welcome Center at Hidden Worlds and on our website are listed in U.S. dollars. You can pay by cash or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). We also accept Mexican Pesos according to the daily exchange rate, as well as Travelers’ Checks.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. With the exception of scuba diving (for which you will need a reservation, as places are limited), you can stop by at any time to begin your Hidden Worlds adventure. Hidden Worlds is closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and from September 21-27.
I am leaving for my trip before I receive my vouchers or do not have access to a printer. Can I still purchase my tickets online?
When you purchase your tickets online you will instantly be confirmed and receive notification by email. When you arrive at Hidden Worlds, all you need is the name on the reservation and we will be able to pull up your reservation for you.
What are the weight / height restrictions on your activities?
The maximum weight limit on the SkyCycle is 261 lbs (118kgs). The maximum weight limit on our zip lines and rappel is 300 lbs (136kgs). There are no height restrictions on the activities, though anyone over 6' 4" (1.90mts) may be uncomfortable on the SkyCycle.
On the other end of the scale, there are no specific minimum weight or height requirements. With children it really depends on their level of maturity as to whether they can ride alone or not (and whether they fit into the children’s sky bike for the SkyCycle). Otherwise, children can ride harnessed to an adult on all activities with the exception of the Cenote Splashdown ZipLine and Cenote Rappel.
Can I bring my own snorkel equipment?
Of course! We’ve tried to design our tours so that you don’t have to carry things around with you – you are on vacation after all! We give each visitor their own brand new personal snorkel tube (for hygiene reasons – we don’t reuse them) and masks and life vests are waiting at the cenotes. If you’d prefer to use your own equipment, that’s absolutely fine. We don’t allow snorkeling with fins at Hidden Worlds. This is to protect the highly delicate formations in our pristine cenotes. They are nature’s antiques, many of which have already taken thousands of years to grow to their current spectacular size. We want you to enjoy and admire them, but we also want them to be there for future generations to enjoy too.
Are wetsuits really necessary for snorkeling?
Wetsuits are optional for snorkeling. Shortie-style wetsuits are available to rent at our main welcome lobby for $3 USD if you don’t have your own. The water in the cenotes is pretty chilly the year round, so you’ll be more comfortable in a wetsuit and able to stay in the water longer. But the choice is entirely yours.
What shoes should I wear?
If you have water shoes, those are ideal so bring them along. Otherwise sports sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes are fine.
Are your activities suitable for children?
Absolutely! Hidden Worlds is fun for all the family. We offer discounted rates for children aged 12 and under, and little ones under 40 inches in height are admitted free of charge! We have child sized sky bikes, safety and snorkel equipment available. Young children can even ride harnessed to an adult on all activities with the exception of the Cenote Splashdown ZipLine and the Cenote Rappel (which they’d have to ride alone if they want to experience). The youngest person to date to participate in all the activities (including the Rappel and Splashdown ZipLine) was 3 years old.
If I book my Hidden Worlds tickets online, how can I arrange a pick-up?
Hidden Worlds now offers round-trip transportation service from selected locations in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, for a nominal fee. For more information on our round-trip transportation service and how to get to Hidden Worlds, please click here.
We want to snorkel the cenotes but don’t want to ride the SkyCycle or ZipLines. Can we still get to the cenotes?
Absolutely! We offer something for everyone at Hidden Worlds. You may be more interested in our Cenote Snorkel Discovery package. This package takes you to cenotes in a different area of the jungle to our adventure activities. You will be driven out to our exclusive cenotes by jungle buggy, where a Hidden Worlds guide will be waiting to accompany you on an incredible journey of discovery through the natural subterranean wonders of this exceptional region. I’m a diver and I want to dive the cenotes but my partner doesn’t dive. How could we arrange a Hidden Worlds day together so that my partner’s not waiting around for me?
Actually that was how Hidden Worlds Cenotes Park first came about – so that divers’ partners and families would be able to experience the natural wonders of this extraordinary place too, while their divers were underwater. Frequently a couple will arrive at Hidden Worlds, and one will head off to begin the Ultimate Adventure Package while the other dives. If the diver wants to experience our incredible adventure activities too, it’s perfectly feasible to do both a dive and the Ultimate Adventure Package in the same day. That way the couple can meet up after the dive in the Adventure Package area of the jungle and experience the activities together. It takes around 3 ½ - 4 hours to complete each Ultimate Adventure Package activity once, but most people stay longer because they want to repeat their favorite activities several times. A 1-tank dive takes around 2 hours and a 2-tank dive takes around 4 hours. We are open from 9am until 5pm. For more information on our Cenote Dives please click here.
